The New York Times’ annual list of places to go contained 41 destinations this year, many in the Pacific Northwest.
Willows Inn on San Juan Islands, Washington is most intriguing. It is also featured in the NYT article, “10 Restaurants Worth a Plane Ride,” along with the Adria brothers’ new tapas joint, Tickets. http://travel.nytimes.com/2011/01/09/travel/09restaurants.html?ref=travel

The list is very ski bum friendly – Erzurum, Turkey, Niseko and Tallin caught my attention. Loreto, Mexico, Santiago, Chile and a few of the areas in the PNW are very likely spots to hit in 2011. Okinawa would be up there too but must save room for my next volunteer vacation.
